Love at First Sight

I loved my white Keds to death. Literally. I was in need of a new shoe that I could romp around in: and I found it! Behold: The Olga (great name...haha) from Target!

Olga - Mossimo
They are only $9. They are so simple, and they go with just about everything I own. I like the fact too that they go just as wonderfully with jeans and a cute tee, as with a dress. Like - these!

All of these are found at Modcloth. I love dresses, and I always want to look cute, especially if I keep going on these afternoon adventures! This summer, I am going to wear dresses as often as possible! :)

The Best Date a Girl Could Wish For

Macy's Flower Show - Downtown Minneapolis
Flickr Photo
This week seems to be full of adventures! Today was a wonderful day. Perfect, actually. I had a grand time spending the day with Ian, and exploring our city. :)

Today was beautiful and sunny....definitely spring. We started the day out with Ian making me breakfast, and I made Virgin Bloody Marys to go with. It was delightful. We then started out on a walk - and we walked from our apartment (Elliot Park Neighborhood) all the way to the Warehouse district to re-visit the Salvation Army there. I was able to aquire another dress (which I will post pictures of once I modify it a little).

After sifting through the goodies, we stopped and enjoyed a greek style pizza pie at Pizza Luce. It was devine! Good food, and a hot date. :)

Ian was a wonderful gentleman, and at my request, we randomly stopped by the flower show on the 8th floor of Macy's. It was the most beautiful thing I have seen since my wedding, and I could not get enough of the scent that waffed through the whole floor. It was the most enchanting experience.

After this (yes, we kept going!) we stopped at our favorite little book place, James and Mary Laurie's. It was heaven searching through all the old books - I found a wonderful copy of Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories, with colored pages, from the 1920's...and I was going to buy it until I found out that it was a little out of our price range. Oh well - it was beautiful to hold for a moment. :)

And then...(yes, there is yet still more!) we bought greek yogurt and frozen mangoes at Target with the intention of making smoothies when we got home. When we got home, Ian received a message that the lovely couple who is leasing our current apartment this summer wanted to stop by! Our apartment was a disaster...and so we cleaned it all up in one half hour. I have to say...I am pretty proud. It was not the best cleaning job, but it was presentable, and I was not embarrassed to let people in! I consider it a mission accomplished.

So you see, my day was completely amazing. Thank you, Ian, for being the best and most romantic Husband I could ever ask for! I do not deserve you.

Oh...and I did get my smoothie eventually- I still had time to make it before drama practice. :)

I Dream of Kitchens

This afternoon was beautiful again, but unfortunately I have too much homework to go on another grand adventure. So I went on a mini one. :) Here I am, sitting in Panera, on Nicollet, attempting to do homework, while munching on a greek salad, and sipping lemonade. A small slice of heaven!

While I am eating good food though, my thoughts once again have turned to the kitchen in our new apartment. OH! And by the way - we get to start painting it on the 15th of this month! That is in 10 days ladies and gentleman. TEN DAYS! Eek!

So, instead of studying for my Developmental Psychology test, I looked up pictures of beautiful kitchens on Flickr. Enjoy!

An Afternoon Adventure

This afternoon was beautiful! It was close to 60 today in Minneapolis, and I thought that it would be a great day to go on an adventure. So, as I have been dying to do for a while, I opted to journey across town and go thrifting at the Salvation Army. I found four things - all for super cheap, and two of the things I need to hem. But I did find a blouse that I loved, and a jean jumper that is perfect for spring. And to top it all off, the journey wasn't too bad either! Minneapolis was gorgeous in the sunlight - I just couldn't resist taking pictures.

And of course, I will share a few pictures of the jumper and blouse that I found! Eeek.... (also, as an added note, this would be the first time that I actually asked Ian to help me do a photo shoot...and we had so much fun!)

I just love the lace around the collar of the blouse. I feel so pretty in it! I also saw a good friend, and she was nice enough to take pictures with me! Hey Casey! :)

And, the GORGEOUS photographer! I couldn't leave him out if I wanted to. :)

Thanks for making it to the end of the credits! :) Haha.

Oh...also, I made more blackberry and chocolate scones, and Ian made homemade burgers and coleslaw...and we watched Stargate together. A great end to a wonderful day!

Rather Late Update

Picture found on Google.

Ahhh...midnight. Most of the time, I am a middle of the afternoon person, but sometimes my thoughts keep me up until all hours. Thoughts about the new place, thoughts about homework that I have yet to complete...thoughts about....everything. Mmmm.

Tonight is one of those nights. So, I thought I would update on my life.

Well, the play is done. It was wonderful, breathtaking, and the ending was melancholy...but I am very happy to have newly acquired the time that was once spent in practice. I have two more afternoons free! Yay! And as promised...here is the picture of my costume. Sorry about the lack of creativity in posing, I snapped it in the middle of the show (so that it could still be light outside.)

The dress is one I found at an antique store a while back. I love it! It has these great pockets, and the blue color is so nice. Perfect for spring, especially with a white belt, and my white high heels. The apron is something I whipped up for the show.

I made blackberry white chocolate scones yesterday...they were fantastic. I didn't get a picture, because they were gone so fast (I made them for the cast) - but I plan on making some more tomorrow. I will most definitely get a picture then.

Last week my social life, on a scale of 1-10 soared from a two, to an 11. :) I hung out with people almost every night of the week! It was great. I love my friends!

Well...I know this wasn't much, but I should at least attempt to sleep. Goodnight, everyone! I hope you can sleep better than I can!

Perfect Little Place

I was reading Apartment Therapy (I love that site! You should totally check it out!) and they featured a couple, and their adorable apartment, in their House Call section. Marian and Sig, of Chicago, IL, have created a home that is beautiful and peaceful - and serves as inspiration to the image in my mind of what I want our apartment to be!

Notice the gray themes? Love it.

Speaking of Apartement Therapy though, the site is wonderful! Not only does it have great articles on decorating and home design, but it also features whole sections devoted to cooking, living green, children, and home technology. It is one of the few sites that I check consistently, every day, without fail!

Rainy Day Dreaming

Coat: I don't know where the Trench is from, but I love the clean lines.
I found the picture here.
Scarf: Featured on All Things Lovely
Umbrella: Featured on Everyday Clever, from umbrella.net
Rain Boots: Kate Spade

Today is blustery and rainy in Minneapolis. It is a day that I wish I could step out in something cute like this. Oh well...a girl can dream!

Ian took me out for a suprise lunch date (have I mentioned that he is so romantic?) and we went to Chipotle and Half Priced Books - a new love of Ian's, and now mine. I picked up a Christmas record (I know it is April...but I just love Christmas! Just don't tell anyone that I am listening to it right now. Ok?) and a Beach Boys record. We also snagged a digital photography book, and a recipe book of take out food from around the world (super excited about that one!).

For the rest of this wonderfully dreary afternoon...it is going to be quite lovely. All I have to do is get ready for my show tonight at 5:45. Until then...and I am going to relax!

Miranda
